General cleaning /degreasing Remove any grease, oil and any other contamination using a special cleaner or ammonia. For large areas high pressure steam cleaning is the ideal solution. Make sure that the surface is completely dry and free of residue before coating. Painted surfaces: generally remove any loose paint by using a scraper. Check the adhesion of any fixed paint. If the paint is in good condition, clean /degrease, sand the surface, make it dust-free and make sure it’s dry before painting.
