Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome

Promain have recently specified and supplied Bollom Broflame Fire Protective coatings. This was at the new and prestigious Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome in Glasgow. This was in preparation of the Velodrome Commonwealth Games in 2014.

The system provided is to upgrade flammable timber structures to achieve BS476–7: Class 1 and BS 476–6: Class 0.

Bollom Broflame is one of a range of Bollom intumescent protective coatings. These paints provide a decorative appearance to protective paints. This is satisfying today’s buildings regulations for fire protection.

Broflame can be applied to new softwood, plywood, chipboard, hardboard and MDF. You can apply it on existing materials in public buildings, schools, hotels etc.  In a fire, Bollom Broflame Fire Protective coatings soften and expand. They then form a carbon foam layer which insulates and protects the substrate from the effects of fire.
