Product Description

Bradite Cladit Cladding Finish WC44 is a unique single pack water thinned polyurethane acrylic finish for long lasting protection of exterior cladding elevations. Manufactured under the auspices of an ISO 9001:2008 quality & ISO 14001:2004 environmental management systems.

Best Uses

Bradite Cladit WC44 is best used as on exterior cladding requiring a hard wearing, flexible, weather and light resistant coating. It has excellent adhesion to existing cladding coatings (coil, plastisols, powder coatings) with minimal preparation.

Suitable for use over most existing cleaned and prepared cladding coating systems. Compatibility with existing coatings should be confirmed by preparing and painting a test patch. Bare steel and non-ferrous metals should be properly prepared and primed before painting with this product.

Application

Always aim to paint an elevation preceding direct sunlight illumination to prevent painting onto warm surfaces which may cause too rapid drying and detract from application properties and finish appearance quality. Application and use should always conform to the codes of practice described in BS 6150 and BS 5493.

High pressure water cleaning to remove all loose and flaking paint and contamination back to a sound substrate. Bradite TD39 industrial strength detergent washing and rinsing should be used with scrubbing to remove grease or oil. Check & confirm adhesion of apparently sound cladding coating by carrying out cross hatch adhesion test to all elevations. If adhesion is suspect then elevation should be completely stripped of old coating and repainted. Intact areas of existing coatings should, ideally, be roughened by manual or mechanical sanding.

Feather back exposed areas to a sound coating edge. Cracks and pits should be filled using a suitable filler before painting. Substrate should be dust free and completely dry before coating. Exposed ferrous & non-ferrous substrates should be blast cleaned to SIS Sa21/2 or manually cleaned to SIS St3, then patch primed with Bradite SORTED WP45 primer.
