Jotun Hardtop AS is a two component chemically curing aliphatic acrylic polyurethane coating. Benefits from a high gloss finish with excellent gloss retention, and good chemical resistance. To be used as topcoat in atmospheric environments. NORSOK approved.

Best Uses

Jotun Hardtop AS is formulated as a high gloss, chemical resistant topcoat finish. Suitable for use in marine environments such as topside, deck and superstructure. Also recommended for offshore environments, refineries, power plants, bridges and buildings. Suitable for a wide range of industrial structures. Used as a topcoat in pre-qualified NORSOK systems.

Jotun Hardtop AS is heat resistant in dry atmospheric environments continuously up to 120°C.

Also available in Jotun Hardtop AS Alu variant.

Application

To secure lasting adhesion to the subsequent product all surfaces shall be clean, dry and free from any contamination. Ensure the primed surface is compatible within the Jotun system. Apply via airless spray or conventional spray as per technical data sheet. Use a brush for stripe coating and small areas. Care must be taken to achieve the specified dry film thickness.

Compatibility

Depending on the actual exposure of the coating system, various primers and topcoats can be used in combination with this product. Some examples are shown below. Contact our technical team for specific system recommendation.

  • Previous coat: Epoxy, zinc epoxy, epoxy mastic, polyurethane
