Sherwin Williams Firetex FX13381-2 is a single pack thin film 120 minute intumescent coating protector for in shop application via airless spray for structural steel.

Best Uses

FIRETEX FX13381/2 is designed for in-shop application by airless spray, to provide fire resistance for up to 120 minutes on structural steel. For use without topcoat in dry internal areas - category Z2 as defined in ETAG 018-2. For use with topcoat in internal areas with high humidity, semi exposed areas and in fully exposed areas - categories Z1, X and Y as defined in ETAG 018-2.

Application

Recommended application via airless spray. For in-shop application, use FIRETEX C69 Fast-Track Blast Primer. For certain dry, internal situations where the final colour/appearance is not critical, then FIRETEX FX13381/2 may remain un-topcoated. For externally exposed steelwork and severe internal environments Acrolon C137V2 or Acrolon C237 must be used as a topcoat.

For other internal environments where a topcoat is required then FIRETEX M71V2 or Sher-Cryl M770 should be used. In all instances for subsequent re-decoration, use FIRETEX M71V2, Acrolon C137V2 or Acrolon C237 as appropriate
