Johnstones Trade Aluminium Wood Primer is a solvent-borne formulation for interior and exterior use on new or bare timber, providing a barrier against the oily exudations of naturally resinous timber.
Johnstones Trade Aluminium Wood Primer is a blend of fine grade aluminium and high quality resin, that can be used as a sealer on weathered creosote or smoke damaged surfaces and is also self-knotting. For use on new or bare timber. Seals weathered creosote or smoke damaged surfaces. Primes resinous, scorched and smoke damaged timber and is also self knotting.
All surfaces to be painted should be clean, dry and free from loose and flaking material. Wash down oily timbers such as teak with White Spirit and allow to dry. Avoid the inhalation of dust. Wear a suitable face mask if dry sanding. Special precautions should be taken during surface preparation of pre-1960’s paint surfaces over wood and metal as they may contain harmful lead.
Stir well before use. Easy to apply by brush paying particular attention to the end grain.
