Jotun Aluminium Paint H.R. (Heat Resistant) is a one component styrene modified oxidatively drying alkyd coating that is heat resistant up to 250°C. Ideal for prepared exhaust pipes, process piping and engine parts.
Jotun Aluminium Paint H.R. (Heat Resistant) is formulated to be used as an exterior aluminium finish usually within an alkyd system. Suitable as a primer, mid coat or finish coat in atmospheric environments. Suitable for properly prepared carbon steel and aluminium substrates. As this paint is resistant to up to 250°C and is available in an aluminium finish, it is ideal for exhaust pipes, process piping and engine parts.
Carbon steel should be prepared to Sa 2.5. Aluminium should be at minimum hand or machine abraded with non-metallic abrasives or bonded fibre machine or hand abrasive pads to impart a scratch pattern to the surface and to remove all polish from the surface. Ideally it should have a cleanliness corresponding to description Sa1. Previously coated surfaces should be clean, dry and undamaged compatible coating.
Apply using air spray, airless spray. Use a brush for stripe coating and small areas. Care must be taken to achieve the specified dry film thickness. Rollers may be used for small areas. Not recommended for first primer coat. Care must be taken to achieve the specified dry film thickness.

The manufacturers data sheets are available for download from this website. It is your responsibility to read and understand all aspects of the data sheets before you place an order and prior to application. Please pay special attention to the preparation, mixing and application temperatures of the product, cleaning of substrate and environmental factors such as temperature, rain etc. Quoted coverage rates are based on the manufacturers theoretical rates and may vary depending upon substrates absorption, texture and application. We always recommend a test is carried out to ensure suitability.
Customer further agrees that Promain have no liability for any errors or omissions contained within the Product Data Sheets and are not liable for failure due to misapplication or inadequate substrate cleaning and preparation. For more information please refer to our Terms & Conditions.
