Application

All Surfaces must be clean, dry and free from oil, grease, petrol, waxes and loosely adhered materials prior to application of Centrecoat Thermoplastic Anti Slip Sheeting. We recommend the use of Centrecoat Tack Coat primer to aid adhesion. For application you will require tack coat, a thermoplastic gas torch and a stiff bristled brush.

Sweep surface with stiff bristled brush ensuring surface is free from dust, dirt, etc. Moisture should be removed from the surface by holding the gas torch 4 – 6 inches above the surface, and starting at one end steadily move the flame from side to side over the area. Apply the Tack Coat to the surface and leave to dry.
Cut Centrecoat Thermoplastic Anti Slip Sheeting to preferred length with a sharp knife. Cut on under side smooth surface for easy cutting. Place sheet in required position before starting to apply heat.

Hold the gas torch 4 – 6 inches above Centrecoat Thermoplastic Anti Slip Sheeting. Starting at one end while constantly moving the flame, move in a side to side motion to gradually heat up the material. Centrecoat Thermoplastic Anti Slip Sheeting will start bubble and melt to bond permanently with the surface. It is recommended to slightly over-torch the material to ensure it is correctly heated, but care should be taken to avoid severe overheating. Over burning may discolour the
surface. Any discoloured spots will wear away after trafficking. The sheets can be trafficked after 10 minutes. For high ambient temperatures the time to trafficking may be extended.
