Johnstones Trade High Build Zinc Rich Primer is a single pack, rust inhibiting primer for use on iron and steel to prevent corrosion.
Johnstones Trade High Build Zinc Rich Primer is suitable as a primer for many paint systems, and as a finish coat in its own right and also for repairing galvanised steel. Prevents spread of corrosion beneath the paint film resulting from scratches and chips. Johnstones Trade High Build Zinc Rich Primer primes iron, steel, galvanised steel and ferrous metal substrates.
Grit blast steel to SIS-Sa 21/2. Wire brush galvanised steel to remove corrosion and degrease with Johnstone’s Cleaner and Degreaser. Special precautions should be taken during surface preparation of pre-1960’s paint surfaces over wood and metal as they may contain harmful lead.
Stir thoroughly before use. Suitable for application by brush or roller.
