Jotun Visir Primer Pigmented is a special water repellent primer that contains powerful fungicides to combat against external wood rotting fungi.

Best Uses

Jotun Visir Primer Pigmented binds loose wood fibres and provides a good surface for further treatment. Visir has been formulated to protects woodwork against dangerous UV light and has a colour that resembles natural timber.

Strengthens the surface and makes it water repellent. Gives longer durability to the coatings system. An easy to apply fast drying water based primer.


To be used before applying opaque stains and coatings systems that can be used on all new and weathered external woodwork, also suitable for application to pressure impregnated timber. Jotun VISIR Oil Primer Clear can be used during the cold times of the year (below +5°C).


Application

Soil must be covered during application. Must not be used near surface water. Run-off to surface water must be prevented. Must not be used on materials that come into direct contact with water or soil. Not to be used on materials which are in direct contact with food or animal feed. Maximum spreading rate of (4m²/l) must not be
exceeded. The product is not to be used for spray application.

Stir well before use. Using Jotun Visir Primer Pigmented under a transparent stain may create a different colour than shown in the colour chart/brush tests. Perform a test application. Under translucent stainsJotun VISIR Oil Primer Clear is recommended. Surfaces previously treated with linseed oil stain or linseed oil paints. must
be cleaned to bare woodwork, because old linseed oil may cause blistering when coated with stain, translucent stain or paint. To ensure proper handling of this product, it is recommended to use protective gloves at all times. It is important to change gloves from time to time with regard to chemical penetration.

Use a primer brush, avoid dry brushing. Do not brush across the cladding but apply Jotun Visir Primer Pigmented in the longitudinal direction of the cladding. The primer must be brushed out thoroughly to prevent the product from forming film on the substrate. Wipe off excess primer from intact substrates.
