PPG Amercoat 385 is a high build polyamide epoxy offers excellent durability and toughness when exposed to high wear conditions, it adheres well to steel, aluminium, stainless steel, concrete and all previously coated surfaces.

PPG Amercoat 385 is a high build polyamide epoxy with high solids content for industrial and marine use that offers excellent durability and toughness when exposed to high wear conditions. When used in an external environment, Amercoat 385 provides surface with a highly resistant coating to chemicals and weathering.

Best Uses

PPG Amercoat 385 can be used over all inorganic zinc primers or can be applied to bare surfaces due its self priming nature, to offer long term protection with economical properties. Amercoat 385 can be used in the marine environment and is highly waterproof, making it suitable for immersion in water for long periods in the marine environment. Typical uses include application to decks, hulls, superstructures and ballast tanks of ships and barges. On an industrial side, Amercoat 385 can be applied to tank exteriors, structural steel pipes, refineries and in waste water treatment plants.

Application

PPG Amercoat 385 can be applied by a variety of spray methods to produce a smooth, fast-drying high build film that provides an excellent barrier to corrosion.

PPG Amercoat 385 can be used internally or externally to produce a high quality, decorative and protective surface layer that adheres well to steel, aluminium, stainless steel, concrete and all previously coated surfaces.
