Mapei Mapecoat TNS Race Track is a rapid-filming acrylic resin-based coloured coating in water dispersion with fine micro-granular quartz for asphalt and concrete surfaces.
Mapecoat TNS Race Track is a fine-textured coating product with good filling properties made from a balanced mix of acrylic resins in water dispersion, special additives, micro-granular quartz sand and selected fillers. Thanks to its special formulation Mapecoat TNS Race Track dries quickly, including in particularly critical conditions of temperature and moisture.
Mapei Mapecoat TNS Race Track is best used for maintaining and upgrading old and new surfaces on race and go-kart tracks. TNS Race Track is also suitable for maintenance work and colouring old and new asphalt and concrete surfaces, marking out surfaces in different colours (road markings) and colouring and protecting concrete kerbs.
When Mapecoat TNS Race Track is applied on asphalt or concrete it forms a coating that guarantees excellent protection for the surface and increases its durability.
Mapecoat TNS Race Track may be applied on both old surfaces which are already painted and on new surfaces which require painting. Mapecoat TNS Race Track has excellent resistance to abrasion and guarantees the durability of surfaces, including those used frequently.
Mapecoat TNS Race Track does not affect the non slip properties of the substrate on which it is applied, making it suitable for areas used by pedestrians and
vehicles. Mapecoat TNS Race Track is resistant to all types of climatic conditions, aggression from smog and sunlight and forms a durable, protective layer for substrates.
Substrates must be stable, strong and flat and have no loose or damaged areas. The substrate must be sufficiently strong for the loads to which it will be subjected during use. Repair cracks by filling them with Eporip. Repair deteriorated areas of the concrete with a cementitious mortar from the Mapegrout range or with Planitop Smooth & Repair. Before applying the product on concrete, apply 1 coat of Mapecoat I 600 W primer diluted at a ratio of 1:1 with clean water.
If the product is applied on surfaces previously coated with synthetic resin, or on an unknown type of coating, test a small area of the surface for adhesion and paintability by applying a coat of Mapecoat I 600 W primer diluted at a ratio of 1:1 with clean water and, after 4-6 hours, two coats of Mapecoat TNS Race Track. In the case of new asphalt, after laying the asphalt mat, we recommend waiting around 20 days before applying Mapecoat TNS Race Track to allow the bitumen to oxidise.
Defects such as holes, pitting, cracking, etc. must be repaired with Adesilex G19 or Mape-Asphalt Repair 0/8, depending on the width and depth of the defects.
Dilute Mapecoat TNS Race Track with around 5-10% of water (depending on the surrounding temperature and the temperature of the substrate). Mix the product thoroughly before use. Where possible use a drill at low speed and avoid entraining air into the product.
Apply Mapecoat TNS Race Track with an air-HVLP spray gun or with a roller. The cycle comprises the application of at least 1-2 coats of Mapecoat TNS Race Track. Wait 30 minutes between each coat in normal temperature and humidity conditions. Protect freshly-coated surfaces from rain after it has been applied to prevent Mapecoat TNS Race Track coming into contact with water before it completely dries; it could affect its adhesion and final finish.
