Product Description

Jotun Hardtop AX is a two component chemically curing high gloss aliphatic acrylic polyurethane coating that offers resistance to UV degradation and good chemical resistance.

Jotun Hardtop AX is a two component chemically curing aliphatic acrylic polyurethane coating. It offers a high gloss finish that provides very good gloss retention for many years and will not suffer from UV degradation to the degree that many top coats do. It also provides good chemical resistance to most common chemicals.

Best Uses

Jotun Hardtop AX is the latest addition to the Jotun range of high performance paint coatings and is available in most BS 4800, BS 381C and RAL Colours. Especially formulated to offer an ever greater degree of corrosion protection to steel that is subject to harsh environments and comply with the demands for lower levels of VOC.

Application

Jotun Hardtop AX should be applied using conventional spray or airless spray, although it can be applied by brush or roller if extra care is taken to achieve the specified dry film thickness. Surfaces must be free from dirt and contamination and cleaned to the highest standard prior to application which will ensure the best possible adhesion.

Surface and Environment

Jotun Hardcoat AX is ideally suited as a high gloss topcoat to be applied as part of a standard specification for sea going ships and inland crafts such as canal boats and barges to be applied over Jotun Jotamastic 87 Aluminium and Jotun Jotamastic 87 standard 2 pack epoxy coatings. A high solids paint coating providing a good film build, Jotun Hardtop AX is formulated to be used as topcoat in atmospheric environments. Hardtop AX is an excellent top coat for boats and ships, for inland waterways, as well as coastal and sea going vessels.
