Remmers Rust Inhibitor M is a corrosion inhibiting additive for open or exposed steel reinforcement and other steel parts when restoring concrete. It is highly water repelling, alkali resistant, polymer dispersion modified with active rust inhibitors.
Rust Inhibitor M (also known as Remmers S Protect M) is an additive for the production of a durable corrosion inhibiting coating made with Betofix RM or Betofix R2. It is used for open or exposed steel reinforcement and other steel parts when restoring concrete.
De-rust exposed steel reinforcement to bright metal (SA 2 ½ ). Then mix approx. 2.5 parts by weight Betofix RM with 1 part by weight Rust Inhibitor M until a homogeneous brushing consistence has been achieved. Coat the entire surface of the steel reinforcement with the freshly mixed corrosion inhibiting grout at least 1 mm thick. Apply a second coat of fresh corrosion inhibiting grout after a waiting time of at least 30 minutes. After a further 30 minutes, the broken out area can be closed with Betofix RM or Betofix R2.
