PPG SigmaTherm 538 is a single component, heat resistant, moisture curing (ethyl), silicate finish designed for providing heat resistance to metal substrates situated internally or externally.
PPG SigmaTherm 538 is best used in conjunction with zinc silicate heat resistant primers to form the ultimate bond between primer and topcoat. When this bond is achieved, your surface coating will be able to withstand temperatures of up to and including 520°C dry heat.
PPG SigmaTherm 538 should be applied using air or airless spray and the use of a brush or roller should only be used for touch ups and small tricky areas that require more precision that a spray gun can produce. PPG SigmaTherm 538 is fast drying at just 1 hour to touch before reaching full cure after 12 hours.
