Sika Sikafloor 02 Primer is a ready to use, very low emission, acrylate based special primer used prior to application of cementitious levelling compounds and tile adhesives.
Sika Sikafloor 02 Primer is a very low emission, acrylate based special primer for sound, smooth and non-absorbent substrates. Suitable for interior use.
Sika Sikafloor 02 Primer is suitable as primer on many tight substrates, old sub floors with water resistant adhesive residues, old sealed or coated substrates and fully bonded old elastic coverings.

SUBSTRATE QUALITY / PRE-TREATMENT
Substrate must be of adequate strength, load bearing capacity, dimensional stability and permanent dryness, free of residues which reduce adhesion, e.g. dust, dirt, oil, fat and loose particles. Remove all substances that may reduce adhesiveness by appropriate action like basic cleaning or degreasing. Layers of water soluble adhesives, e.g. sulphite waste adhesives, are to be mechanically removed. Old water resistant adhesives are to be mechanically removed as thoroughly as possible.
Old coverings must have a sufficient bonding to the substrate. Coverings with a weak bonding must be removed. Old floors, such as ceramic tiles are to be thoroughly cleaned and sanded.
For vinyl plates containing asbestos, only basic cleaning is recommended. Rooms in buildings without a basement, are to be sealed against rising dampness in compliance with the standard. The requirements of the relevant valid standards, guidelines and data sheets apply.
Stir Sikafloor®-02 Primer before use.
Apply Sikafloor®-02 Primer undiluted. Apply the primer with a suitable tool, e.g. short-pile roller or pad applicator evenly on the dry substrate. Avoid formation of puddles. Sika levelling compounds can be applied after a drying time of approx. 1 - 2 hours. Refer to the product data sheets for the appropriate floor levelling compounds. Pay attention to the drying time of 4 hours of magnesia screeds.
On suitable dimensionally and stable substrates, Sikafloor® -02 Primer can also be used under ceramic tiles and natural stones. The product data sheet Sikafloor® -02 Primer for ceramic tiles has to be followed. Clean all tools with water immediately after use.
