Owatrol Textrol UV+ wood oil helps protect soft and hardwood timber from the effects UV rays the cause of timber greying.
Textrol UV+ is part of the extensive range of wood oils produced by Owatrol formulated to enhance and protect exterior timber. Textrol UV+ utilises Photo-Stabilizer Technology to help reduce the effects of greying caused by UV degradation from sunlight.
Textrol UV+ is ideally suitable for exterior cladding & fencing, being easy to apply as well as odourless.
Textrol UV+ filter and unique UV barrier will maintain the natural beauty of the wood whilst still protecting the timber from weathering and attack from rot and decay. The high protection colourless photo-stabilizer technology incorporated in the Textrol UV+ will help protect most species of wood including softwoods such as larch, Douglas, Spruce, Red Cedar and European hard woods. Application can be carried out on rough sawn, planed, new or old timber. This fast drying silky matt oil will not flake or peel and is easy to apply.
Textrol may only be applied to bare wood surfaces or a weathered wood surface that was previously finished with Textrol. ALL other finishes must be completely and thoroughly removed.
Treat new wood with Prepdeck to remove the mill- glaze then treat with Net-trol to neutralise the Prepdeck before applying Textrol UV+. Weathered Wood (Wood exposed to weathering for longer than 12 months) should be treated with Net-trol Wood Cleaner & Colour Restorer before applying Textrol UV+. Previously oiled or coated surfaces (paint, stain, varnish…) must have the previous finishes completely and thoroughly removed with Aquanett or Prepdeck and the stripped surface must be neutralised with Net-trol Wood Cleaner & Colour Restorer before applying Textrol UV+.
Apply Textrol between + 5 degrees C and + 30 degrees C. Do not apply in direct sunlight or during the hottest times of the day. 3 coats will need to be applied by either paint brush or roller working in the direction of the grain. Textrol UV+ has a theoretical coverage rate of 12m2 per litre, this will vary depending upon the porosity of the timber. Do not exceed 36 hours between coats.
