Osmo Country Colour is a natural wood oil that penetrates and nourishes, providing long term protection for external wood.

Osmo Country Colour is a Wood Paint designed for use on exterior woods. Based on natural vegetable oils, Osmo Country Colour penetrates deeply into the wood keeping it elasticated and healthy. Shrinking and swelling is reduced meaning the wood can breathe and moisture is allowed to evaporate.Osmo Country Colour is available in 2.5 litres tins and a wide range of different colours.

Osmo Country Colour is an opaque, satin wood finish and is great for all exterior uses due to its extreme durability. The deep rich colours of Osmo Country Colour will hide any natural colours and grain, especially when it comes to wood, but it will still provide a natural feel and the original texture. This paint is created from natural vegetable oils, this allows the wood to breath and now crack, blister or peel.

This versatile, paint-like opaque finish is brilliant for use throughout the garden and home, it's great for a range of projects such as wooden sidings, cladding, trim, cupboards, shutters, fences, shakes, pergolas, shingles, summer houses, sheds, log cabins, boat houses, garden furniture and much more. Although Osmo Country Colour is labelled as an exterior product, it can equally be used indoors too, especially on interior wood, Osmo Country Colour will provide a good effect. The product does contain a lot of solvent which means it has a strong smell, it's also recommended that interior items should be painted and left to dry outside.

Osmo Country Colour is best used on outdoor woods where exceptional durability and resistance is essential. When used, Osmo Country Colour will not crack, blister or peel, which means that the woods appearance will remain pleasing on the eye for a long time.

Aftercare

When it comes to general renovations, we recommend applying a fresh coat of Osmo Country Colour thinly and evenly in the direction of the wood grain, as and when necessary. These products unsurpassed durability in all weather conditions, the microporous finish allows the wood to breathe and will help to reduce the swelling and shrinkage while also being water repellent and UV resistant. Osmo Country Colour will also not peel, flake or blister and is available in 19 different colours.

Application

Osmo Country Colour should be applied using brush and will cover approximately 13m2 per litre with two coats. Make sure the surface is clean, dry and free from contaminants before you start the application process to ensure you get the optimum results.

Osmo Country Colour can be used on all outside wood where exceptional resistance and durability is asked for, such as wooden sidings and claddings, trim, clapboards (shutters), fences, shakes, shingles, pergolas, garden houses, boat houses, garden furniture etc.

Osmo Country Colour really is a great option when it comes to both exterior and interior applications, as a microporous, opaque, satin wood finish it brings dull timber and wood back to life. What’s more is this product comes with brilliant UV properties and is highly durable, the deep rich colours will hide the grain and colour of the wood as well as allow the wood’s natural feel and texture to remain. Osmo Country Colour is made from vegetable oils and doesn’t include any active ingredients so its an eco friendly product that allows timber and wood to breath. Osmo Country Colour won’t peel, crack or blister unlike other wood paints, making it ideal for outdoor furniture and buildings, it will last a long time and also provides easy maintenance, making Osmo Country Colour an extremely effective product. At Promain we advise our customers to do a test patch or area before starting the main application of the product, this is due to different woods affecting the final appearance.

We recommend using Osmo Country Colour on any exterior wood, especially in those cases where a durable coating is necessary, this can include timber cladding, windows, window shutters, balcones, sheds, garden furniture, fences and summer houses. Osmo Country Colour is also a great option when it comes to recoating old microporous finishes as well as weathered wooden surfaces.

Guidance

  • For new oily or exotic wood species, please allow approx. three months exposure to the outside elements prior to application
  • Over application can increase the drying times
