We are still receiving a high number of enquiries from people who have been told by their local Building Control that there is a paint product that will make doors fire resistant to half or one hour. Intumescent Paint for Doors could never work.
There are too many components of doors such as frames, locks, handles etc. All would need to be fire rated.
This is NOT the case. Paint onto timber will only offer Class 1 and Class O Spread of Flame.
As far as we are aware there is no paint product on the market that can fulfil the requirements of Building Control for the application onto doors.
Therefore please do not be fooled by other suppliers that Intumescent Paint for Doors exists. Protect your clients and your reputation.
