Boats and Yachts require a high level of protection. If you’re a boating enthusiast, you’ll understand how important it is to protect your vessel in the right way, however, you might not be able to tell the difference between a decent quality marine protective coating and a poor quality marine protective coating.
Promain would like to inform you that the Jotun range of marine coatings are spearheading the market in a competitive industry that revolves around high quality, protective coatings designed to last a long time. Jotun Marine Coatings have been specifically manufactured to last for up to 30 years. This alone tells you the quality of the substance you would be purchasing.
So, which product do I Choose?
Finding the right paint product is essential, and even more so in the marine industry, where substrates are exposed to atmospheric conditions on a daily basis. It’s extremely important for you to pick a product that will do what you need it to – work well and last a long time. Below we list a selection of Jotun Marine Coatings and give a brief insight into how they work:
Jotun Jotamastic 87 Aluminium Standard – This two-pack, abrasion resistant coating is the number one choice for maintaining marine based surfaces which are exposed to highly aggressive conditions on a day-to-day basis. Jotamastic 87 Aluminium Standard offers great adhesion to all marine type surfaces, especially steel where blast cleaning may not be possible, and provides you with excellent long-term corrosion protection in both salt and freshwater environments.
- Jotun Hardtop HB – This two-pack, matt polyurethane topcoat offers excellent colour retention and is designed to be used as a topcoat over an epoxy/epoxymastic system where a durable, high grade finish is required. Curing at low temperatures means Jotun Hardtop HB is ideal for use in aggressive atmospheric conditions. Combine this with great water resistant and abrasion resistant properties, and you will find Jotun hardtop is highly suited for application in coastal environments and offshore applications where surfaces need protecting from strong, outdoor conditions.
Jotun Jotamastic Barrier 80 – This two-pack, low film build, anti-corrosive, epoxy mastic, is designed for application to manually prepared steel and surfaces which have been sand blasted. Jotamastic Barrier 80 is part of the Highways Approved paint system but is also suitable for use on steel vessels above or below the waterline. When applying in a marine application it is recommended that a minimum of 2 coats of Jotamastic Barrier 80 is applied above the water line and 3 coats to areas below the water.
