Another success for Promain with the Glixtone AC1 Case Study.
Here at Promain we take great delight in hearing about successful project in which we helped to find and specify the coating solution for a problematic issue.
I would like to take the time to tell you all about a recent enquiry were we had great success in helping a customer, our technical team helped to find the right solution to a problem our customer was experiencing and that was yet to be solved by using the widely available commercial paint products.
Our customer had a property In coastal location where they needed to protect the exterior render of the property from the elements, being that the property was in a coastal location the element in question would be of some of the harshest paint could be expected to endure, we class this type of location as C5-M which in paint terms is the most corrosive and aggressive environment a paint can be used in. They had tried various widely available commercial paints with little success and none used had the durability to stand up to the coastal elements.
They decided to consult their neighbours to see what they had used to protect their properties.
One of their neighbours advised that they had used Glixtone High Performance Masonry Paint AC1.

It had been providing protection for almost 30 years since application. Now armed with this new information, our customer conducted a search for Glixtone AC1. They were then directed to our website. They found the product but it was not available in the colour required.
Our customer decided to phone our technical team for advice. Using our consultative approach we was able to confirm that the Glixtone High Performance Masonry Paint AC1 was indeed a good choice of product.
The formulation has excellent durability against the coastal elements. Consequently, this makes it extremely weather resistant and moisture proof. AC1 also has great resistance against salt water. Most of all, it’s extremely vapour permeable. This means there is no issues of moisture entrapment in the masonry causing damp issues.
Now we still had the issue of the colour not being available. However, this was easily overcome by using our expertise here at Promain! We were able to tint the paint to an exact colour match. This was using our in house paint tinting and colour matching technology.
As you can see from the pictures, the results where stunning. Subsequently, our customer was extremely pleased. From now on, they will now be using Promain for all their future painting projects.
