Are you stuck looking for the best driveway paint? Look no further! Whether you are looking for coatings for concrete driveways or block paving paint, Promain have the best driveway paint solutions.

Benefits of Painted Driveways & Paths

You might be asking yourself what are the benefits of painting concrete driveway and paths. Firstly, drive-way paint is a cheaper, much easier alternative to removing your existing drive and starting again. Also, by using exterior concrete driveway paint you are instantly giving your property kerb appeal from the moment you or visitors arrive.

Some drive paints also benefit from being easy to clean. Therefore, if your car has a leak, or if something stains the floor, you can easily wipe up with minimal effort. Because many driveway paints are both suitable for tarmac or concrete, you can use the same exterior concrete path paint on your drive. As a result, your driveway through to your garden path look seamless. We will discuss the best concrete path paint products below.

How To Apply Driveway Paint

Before you do anything, what is the weather like outside? What time of year is it? Now if it’s winter and there is a thick frost out, you would be right in your assumptions – it’s not the right time to paint. But did you know painting in the heat of summer is a bad idea too?

If this is news to you, make sure you read up on our weather blog for the best advice: https://www.promain.co.uk/blog/weather-conditions-for-painting/

First things first, you need to prepare your area. Sweep any leaves, moss or dirt away. Afterwards, it is best to use a jet wash to clean off any muck. By simply using a jet wash, you may discover that your driveway looks better than you expect! Or on the other hand you may discover your driveway is a different colour than you initially realised!

Now, the next important job is to use a fungicidal wash on your driveway and path. Fungicidal washes work by destroying any algae or growth that is within the surface of the substrate. Our most popular algae remover is Centrecoat GS36. Available for next day delivery, this fungus cleaner is suitable for a huge range of exterior uses. You can use it to remove moss and growth from roofs, wood such as fences or decks, clean patios, decorative features and more. Simply use a backpack sprayer to apply the solution to the floor. Let the solution dry, and then you are ready for your driveway paint.

Always make sure to read and follow your paint’s instructions before you make a costly, embarrassing mistake. Of course, our technical team are on hand ready for any questions or queries you may have. It is always best to be safe rather than sorry with paint as with anything!
