Many warehouses use either palette trucks or forklift trucks for manoeuvring palettes or goods. Many floors in these larger units are power floated leaving them with a smooth sealed surface, this surface is extremely difficult for paint to adhere to and if you are considering either line marking or painting the complete floor they it will be necessary to create a key for the paint to stick to. This is typically achieved by either applying a solution of acid etch to the floor or by treating the surface with a blast track machine. Either of these methods will provide a perfect surface for painting.

The most common paint coating used for painting floors in warehouses, workshops, garages etc. is a 2 part epoxy paint, this is where a hardener is added to the paint to create an extremely hardwearing surface. A popular option is PPG’s SigmaCover 2, a solvent based floor paint that offers a fast-drying solution making return to service possible during winter shut downs possible. SigmaCover is specified for use in the service bays for London Underground Limited. In areas such as food preparation or breweries where a low odour solution is required we are able to offer a range of water based or 100% solids floor paints.

Protecting interior wood flooring is vital as it is a natural product that requires regularly feeding with oil. Osmo have been producing a wide rang of wood oils and stains for many years and have developed a hard wax oil called Osmo Polyx Oil formulated for hardwood flooring such as Oak flooring. Owatrol have become a market leader in exterior decking stains offering products such as Textrol as well as paints that that come with a 5 year warranty on horizontal surfaces and 15 years on vertical timber cladding.
