Watco Flowpatch
Watco Flowpatch is an easy to mix, pourable material for quick repairs to concrete inside or outside.
Best Uses
Watco Flowpatch is very strong and hardens quickly; it will accept heavy traffic (including forklifts) only 2 hours after application.
Watco Flowpatch will resist oils and grease.
It can be applied at any depth between 5mm -100mm and repairs can be feather edged in light traffic areas.
When mixed, Watco Flowpatch will be pourable so is not suitable for repairs to sloping floors or exposed edges. After curing, Watco Flowpatch can be painted with any suitable Watco floor paint. If the floor being repaired is very rough, you may wish to screed the whole floor with Watco Flowtop® for a smooth flat surface before painting. The surface is inherently anti slip in dry conditions. Overcoating with Watco Safety Grip® is recommended if a coarse anti slip is required in very wet or oily conditions. Watco Safety Coat is available where a general level of slip resistance is required.
- Just add water, mix and pour
- Can be applied to damp (not wet) concrete
- Will cure down to 5°C
- Can be applied at any depth between 5mm - 100mm in a single application
- Fibre reinforced
Watco Flowpatch's Typical Compressive Strength at 20°C: 1 day: >20N/mm2, 7 days: >35N/mm2, 28 days: >45N/mm2.
For repairs to ramps, steps and for reforming edges, we recommend Watco Concrex®. For resurfacing or levelling larger areas of rough or tamped concrete, please use Watco Flowtop. If greater chemical resistance is required, please use Watco Concrex.
Application
Preparation
The substrate should be clean and free from oil or contaminants. Any loose material should be removed from the surface. If possible , wire brush the surface. Edges of the repair should be cut to depth to avoid feather edging in heavy wear areas. Watco Flowpatch
can be applied to damp (not wet) concrete.
Mixing
Remove the bag of powder from the plastic bucket and use the empty bucket or other suitable container for mixing. If using Flowpatch Coloured, add the pigmented powder at this point at a ratio of 24g per 1kg of Flowpatch powder (600g bag per 25kg). To achieve a pourable mix, add 3 parts of powder to one part of water (by volume). If mixing 25kg, you will require approximately 8.3L of water (plus some excess to hand). Due to the short working life of the mixed product, we recommend you carry out the mixing near to the repair, not near to the water source. It’s also useful to have a bucket of water nearby, to quickly immerse and clean the tools after use.
Put the water into the empty bucket or container and gradually add the powder stirring constantly to achieve a pourable slurry. For small quantities, mix by hand using a flat bladed tool (such as a spatula). For larger quantities use a mixer fitted into a slow speed electric drill (Watco Flowpatch mixing blade is ideal). Do not add excessive water or drying time will be extended and the performance may be impaired.
As the mixture hardens quickly, pour the Flowpatch into the hole to be repaired immediately. We do not recommend re-stirring as this could potentially weaken the final repair. Do not mix more than you can use within a few minutes (5-10 minutes at 20°C). The remaining powder can be stored for future use.
Application
When a smooth consistency is achieved, simply pour Watco Flowpatch in to the hole. If the product has been properly mixed, it will self level and will need minimal trowelling. Watco Flowpatch can be applied in any depth between 5mm and 100mm. Repairs in lightly trafficked areas can be feather edged. Thin edges are not recommended for medium or heavily trafficked repairs.
