Im1 - Im4 Part 9 Immersion Environments

ISO12944 Part 9 is split into 4 subcategories depending on the type of immersion. Im1 is for fresh water environments such as river installations and hydro plants steel protection. Im2 is for sea or brackish water environments, such as structures in harbour areas or offshore steel structures. Examples include sluice gates, locks or jetties. Im3 is for buried steel structures in soil, such as tanks, steel pipes and steel piles. Finally, Im4 is for steel in sea or brackish water with cathodic protection.
