Zeroflame Upgrade
Zeroflame Upgrade is a waterborne intumescent coating, which has been designed to prevent the spread of fire on previously painted surfaces. It is intumescent coating classified to European Standard EN 13501-1.
Best Uses
Zeroflame Fire Retardant Upgrade has been successfully tested to European Standard EN13501-1, achieving B-s1, d0 on wood with a minimum thickness of 8mm, or a non-combustible substrate with a minimum thickness of 6mm, and density ≥338 kg/m³, previously coated with paint to maximum thickness of 360μm. It has a matt white finish but can be overcoated with Zeroflame Topcoat W if analternative colour or gloss level is required.
- Waterborne
- Dries to a matt white finish
- Can be overcoated with Zeroflame Topcoat W
Application
Zeroflame Upgrade can be applied by brush, roller or airless spray. Roller or airless spray are the most appropriate methods on large, flat areas.
Ensure the surface is thoroughly cleaned, dried and free from any oil, grease or dust etc. prior to application. When overcoating existing paints any evidence of delamination between exisiting coats, or between existing paint and the substrate, indicates that the surface is unsuitable for overcoating, and will therefore require all existing coatings to be removed. Existing coatings, if found to be suitable, should be thoroughly abraded and all dust and debris removed.
