SigmaTherm 230 is a high performance, heat resistant product that provides protection to a variety of metal substrates. PPG SigmaTherm 230 is ideally suited for application to pipes, radiators and low heat engines to aid the protection of the surface and surrounding area.
Blast clean steel to ISO-Sa2.5 with a blasting profile of 40 - 70 microns. The substrate must be perfectly dry before and during application. Degrease stainless steel with solvents and sweep blast. The temperature of the mixed base and hardener should be above 15°C otherwise extra thinner may be required. Adding to much thinner results in reduced sag resistance. Allow sufficient induction time as per data sheet.
SigmaTherm 230 is a high performance product that provides surfaces with a high glossy finish to aid protection and offer a level of decoration with an aluminium effect. SigmaTherm 230 should ideally be used internally to offer heat resistance to appliances of up to 230°C.

The manufacturers data sheets are available for download from this website. It is your responsibility to read and understand all aspects of the data sheets before you place an order and prior to application. Please pay special attention to the preparation, mixing and application temperatures of the product, cleaning of substrate and environmental factors such as temperature, rain etc. Quoted coverage rates are based on the manufacturers theoretical rates and may vary depending upon substrates absorption, texture and application. We always recommend a test is carried out to ensure suitability.
Customer further agrees that Promain have no liability for any errors or omissions contained within the Product Data Sheets and are not liable for failure due to misapplication or inadequate substrate cleaning and preparation. For more information please refer to our Terms & Conditions.
