Selemix 7-512 Polyurethane Extra Topcoat will provide a gloss finish with excellent opacity. Selemix 7-512 is also available in a large range of colours and can be tinted to most RAL, BS & NCS colour codes. Selemix 7-512 has been formulated with both polyurethane and enamel and has a high resistance to both chemical and atmospheric attack, when used as part of Selemix paint system it can provide protection in the harshest of environments such as C5M-High & C5I-High.
When used as topcoat as part of a Selemix paint system, Selemix 7-512 is ideal for application onto steel, black steel, phosphate steel, galvanised steel, fibre glass reinforced polyester, light alloys, steel structures, light industrial, equipment, agricultural equipment, trailers, tractors, harvesters, ploughs, plant equipment, excavators, earthmovers, dumpers, screed pumps, power barrows, steel doors, garage doors roller shutters, cars, trucks, workshop equipment, machine tools, lathes, milling machines, drill presses, control panels plus many more.
Please note, different gloss levels can be achieved through blending Selemix 2 pack Polyurethane Extra Topcoat 7-512 Gloss and Selemix 2 pack Polyurethane Extra Topcoat 7-511 Matt. Please see the Matting Chart for further information.
Selemix 7-512 is best used as topcoat over either a 2 pack Selemix PU or epoxy primer when a gloss finish with a high resistance to chemical attack and harsh atmospheric conditions is required. Using as part of an applicable Selemix paint system, Selemix 7-512 is perfect for protecting agricultural equipment, trailers, tractors, ploughs, harvesters, plant equipment, excavators, diggers, dumpers, screed pumps, power barrows, steel, galvanised steel, stainless steel, phosphate steel, black steel, light alloys, previously coated steel, machine tools, lathes, milling machines, drill presses, guillotines, workshop equipment, welfare cabins, airport ground support equipment, electrical cabinets plus many more.
Selemix 7-512 Polyurethane Extra Topcoat is best applied by either conventional or airless spray equipment. When applied at a 50 micron dry film thickness it has theoretical coverage rate of 7.5-8.5 m2 per litre. For best results it is recommended 2 coats are applied.
Before application, Selemix 7-512 will need to be combined with one of the below at a general ratio of 4 to 1:
