Acrypol Flexiglass Catalyst
Acrypol Flexiglass Catalyst is the hardener component of the Acrypol Flexiglass product range.
Best Uses
Acrypol Flexiglass® is a versatile grp resin roof system designed for new and existing roofs. Flexiglass® can be applied to almost any roof surface such as felt, asphalt, concrete and OSB3 TG board as a new roof covering. Flexiglass® is a totally seamless, highly flexible roof system ideal for any sized job.
FLEXIGLASS CATALYST is principally used as a radical polymerization initiator and curing agent for monomeric vinyl, acrylic, styrene and unsaturated polyester/vinyl ester resins, and their co-polymers of these resins, in combination with proper accelerators, usually amines. In general the hardening reaction is highly influenced by air moisture, filler/putty/resin compositions, temperature, user dexterity, therefore Raichem recommends testing its products on the compound to be cured, even after being interfaced with its technical department. Possible application Area: Car Repair, Marine, Marble & Stones, Wood, Industry Process.
The catalyst is the primary component of any fibreglass flat roofing system – see the Acrypol Flexiglass mixing guide for full dosage rates.
Application
Pre-Install
- Make sure the substrate is stable, clean and dry. Avoid moisture at all times. Never apply over wet substrates. Do not apply below 5°C or above 30°C.
Priming
- Agitate Acrypol Flexiglass Primer thoroughly with the least amount of turbulence.
- Add required amount of Acrypol Flexiglass Catalyst paste to primer, depending on the temperature and quantity needed. (See System Info - Catalyst Dosage Mixing Guide). Stir thoroughly.
- Apply 500g (350ml) per m2 to substrate using a roller
- Leave Acrypol Flexiglass Primer to set
Trimming
- Install trims to substrate if required. Trims do not require priming.
Bandage Joints
- Agitate Acrypol Flexiglass Top Coat Resin thoroughly with the least amount of turbulence.
- Add required amount of Acrypol Flexiglass Catalyst paste to primer, depending on the temperature and quantity needed. (See System Info - Catalyst Dosage Mixing Guide). Stir thoroughly.
- Bandage joints using Acrypol Flexiglass Jointing Bandage if required
- Apply 500g (350ml) per m2 of Acrypol Flexiglass Top Coat over reinforcement using a roller. Then consolidate using a bubble buster.
- Leave Acrypol Flexiglass Top Coat to set
Resin Coat / Matting
- Agitate Acrypol Flexiglass Top Coat Resin thoroughly with the least amount of turbulence.
- Add required amount of Acrypol Flexiglass Catalyst paste to primer, depending on the temperature and quantity needed. (See System Info - Catalyst Dosage Mixing Guide). Stir thoroughly.
- Apply 500g (350ml) per m2 to the primed surface using a roller
- Apply Acrypol Flexiglass CSM 225gsm Matting over wet resin, then consolidate using a bubble buster
- Add 500g (350ml) Acrypol Flexiglass Top Coat over the matting. Work in using a roller
- Leave Acrypol Flexiglass Top Coat to set
Final Resin Top Coat
- Agitate Acrypol Flexiglass Top Coat Resin thoroughly with the least amount of turbulence.
- Add required amount of Acrypol Flexiglass Catalyst paste to primer, depending on the temperature and quantity needed. (See System Info - Catalyst Dosage Mixing Guide). Stir thoroughly.
- Apply 700g (500ml) per m2 as a topcoat to the surface using a roller as the final top coat layer
