Axalta ViterWash T is a single pack phosphoric acid etch solution for the preparation of fresh galvanised surfaces prior to painting.
Axalta ViterWash T is formulated to etch bright, unweathered galvanised surfaces, as an adhesion promoter for subsequently applied paint coatings. Once successful, the product changes the surface colour from blue to grey/black.
All surfaces to be treated should be solvent washed to remove galvanising flux, grease or other contamination. Abrade any very smooth or shiny areas to provide a key and dust off. Ensure solution is homogeneous before use.
Only apply in conditions of good ventilation which must be maintained during drying and curing. Do not apply when rain, mist, sleet or snow are imminent. During application and drying time of the etch solution, the surface should be dry, the Relative Humidity should not exceed 88% and the steel temperature should remain at least 2°C above the dew point.
Do not apply to any surface except zinc or galvanising. Apply via airless spray, conventional spray or brush.
