Bedec All Prime

Bedec All Prime, is an all surface, all purpose, quick drying primer, with a wide range of uses. Use as a bond coat, metal primer, wood primer, knotting water-based interior and exterior stain blocking primer and sealer.

Best Uses

Bedec All Prime really is a multi-use primer. Suitable for use on a range of interior and exterior surfaces, including: walls, ceilings, fascia, soffits, foundations, doors, trim, railings, ferrous, non-ferrous metals and related paintable surfaces.  Please note that Bedec All Prime® is not intended for blocking heavy water stains or for application to floors, decks, roof surfaces or any surface subject to immersion or prolonged contact with water. 

Application

Always ensure that surfaces are fully prepped prior to application. Surfaces should be clean, dry, sound and free of dust, dirt, rust, excessive chalky material, grime, oil, wax, mould, wallpaper adhesive or any contamination that may interfere with adhesion. If unsure, always wash surface with a household cleaner, appropriate cleaning solution or methylated spirits and rinse off.

Clean any new galvanized surfaces with methylated spirits, and remove any unsound coatings. Sand any remaining paint film edges smooth and level with the new surface. New plaster which is polished or dusty will need to be abraded to open the surface. Lightly sand any exposed wood with an 80 to 100 grit sandpaper to remove loose or weathered wood fibres.

When priming over stained areas, you should first attempt to remove as much of the stain as possible by washing, sanding, scraping etc. Remove any mould and treat the area with a fungicidal wash. Ensure to remove any rust with a wire brush and wipe with methylated spirits. Spot prime knots and sap streaks after suitable preparation.

Glossy surfaces - Adheres to glossy enamel paints and clear finishes, contiboard MDF, PVC, fibreglass, vinyl, ceramic wall tiles. Pre-sanding or surface de-glossing may be needed.

Stir All Prime thoroughly prior to application. Apply when the air and surface temperature is above 5°C and relative humidity is less than 85%. All Prime can be applied by Brush, Roller or Airless Spray.
