Bedec Aqua Advanced Matt is a water based, non yellowing paint that can be painted on almost any surface to provide a long lasting surface coating. It also has Class 1 Wet Scrub Rating (BS EN 1198:2006).
Best Uses
Aqua Advanced Matt is suitable for both internal and external use. It is perfect for use on wood, metal, plastic, UPVC, architrave, doors, fascia and soffits, trim areas, windows, skirting and all types of joinery.
The acrylic polyurethane enamel enables these paints to dry to a tough finish, which offers excellent block resistance and durability. Formulated as a three coat system using Aqua Primer Undercoat as the first coat. Aqua Advanced has been designed with the trade decorator in mind and the requirements of a top quality trim paint have been fulfilled.
Application
Preparation:
Always ensure the surface to be painted has been fully prepped prior to application, The surface shold be clean, dry and free from dust, dirt grease and wax and have any loose and defective paint removed. If there is any algal or fungal growths, these shouldbe removed and treated with a fungicidal wash. If painting onto a smooth glossy surface, this should by lightly abraded to provide a key.
Bare steel should be free from any rust, scale and dust, before applying Bedec water based All Metals Primer. Pressure treated timber should be weathered for at least six months prior to painting. Denatured wood should be abraded to reveal new cells. New planed, finished wood or PSE wood should also be abraded to open the grain and allow maximum penetration.
Where there is a risk of staining (Extractive discolouration) treatment with Bedec Stain block is recommended. It is always advisable to test for staining by applying Aqua Advanced Enamels to a small area first. Any knots should also be treated with Bedec stain block. Knotting solution is not recommended.
Application:
The recommended application method is by brush, roller, conventional H.V.L.P or airless spray. Stir well and check colour before use. Do not apply at air or surface temperatures below 8°C or when it is likely to rain before the paint has fully dried.
On sealed surfaces apply two to three coats, allowing each coat to dry thoroughly. Do not over spread.
