Bedec Extra-Flex Masonry Paint is an ideal purchase for anyone looking to protect exterior masonry, such as roughcast, pebble-dash, brickwork, cement, and concrete rendered surfaces. The modified acrylic blend is a flexible, microporous protective coating that will flex with the substrate where movement causes cracking in conventional masonry paint. It can be applied to exterior masonry and previously painted surfaces after suitable preparation, and can be used as an anti carbonation coating to help prevent concrete spalling.
Extra-Flex Masonry Paint is best used to bridge hairline cracks found in exterior walls. The modified acrylic blend is ideally suited for the protection of exterior masonry, roughcast, pebble-dash, brickwork, cement, and concrete rendered surfaces. This paint provides new and existing painted surfaces with a smooth, long-lasting finish that stretches up to 400% to aid the prevention of further cracking after the fine cracks have been bridged.
Bedec Extra-Flex Masonry Paint is suitable for application by brush, roller, airless spray, conventional spray, or HVLP equipment. This modified acrylic blend should not be applied at temperatures below 10°C or if rain is expected before the paint is touch dry. The paint has a theoretical coverage rate of 10m2 per litre depending on the surface and is touch dry in just two hours at 20°C, where relative humidity (RH) should not exceed 65%.
At this temperature, a second coat can be applied after four hours, although this time will need to be increased at lower temperatures. If in doubt, allow extra time for the paint to dry.
Bedec Extra-Flex Masonry Paint is not recommended for application to Fletton or Stock Bricks, or to walls that have been coated with Limewash. We can talk to you about a different coating if you need to coat one of the previously mentioned substrates. Our guide to painting exterior brickwork offers advice that will help you here.
Bedec Extra-Flex is a masonry paint. It can be used on a wide range of exterior masonry surfaces and works well in the outdoor environment to offer maximum protection and complete bridging to surfaces against further damages caused by weathering. It can be applied to a range of walls and is available in almost every colour when you contact our technical support team.
