Product Description

Hempel Hempalin 52140 is a glossy alkyd enamel which forms a weather resistant coating. It is flexible and resistant to salt water and spillage of mineral oil and other aliphatic hydrocarbons. For mildly to moderately corrosive environments.

Best Uses

Hempel Hempalin Enamel 52140 is recommended as a finishing coat for alkyd systems on exterior and interior steel and woodwork in mildly to moderately corrosive environment e.g. engine rooms including tank tops, main engines and auxiliary machinery.

Application

Apply only on a dry and clean surface with a temperature above the dew point to avoid condensation. In confined spaces, provide adequate ventilation during application and drying.

New steel: Remove oil and grease etc. thoroughly with suitable detergent. Remove salts and other contaminants by high pressure fresh water cleaning. Power tool cleaning to St 3 or abrasive blasting to Sa 2 (ISO 8501-1:2007). Prime with: HEMPALIN

Repair and maintenance: Remove oil and grease etc. thoroughly with suitable detergent. Remove salts and other contaminants by high pressure fresh water cleaning. Remove all rust and loose material by abrasive blasting or power tool cleaning. Dust off residues. Prime with: HEMPALIN. Touch up bare spots with: HEMPALIN ENAMEL 52140.
