Product Description

Jotun Hardtop XPL is a two component polyurethane coating with a durable, low gloss finish, for use as a topcoat in atmospheric environments.

Best Uses

Hartop XPL is an ideal topcoat for use in for use in atmospheric environments. It is an all-round polyurethane topcoat for use on both marine and protective structures, including:

Marine: Topside, Deck and Superstructure. 

Protective: Bridges and Buildings. Suitable for a wide range of industrial structures.

Hardtop XPL is truly an all-round polyurethane topcoat for both marine and protective structures.

Application

Jotun Hardtop XPL has an optimised rheology and flow giving it excellent application properties by airless or conventional spray. A roller can be used on small areas, and brushes are recommended for stripe coating and small areas. Always ensure that surfaces are fully prepped prior to application of Hardtop XPL. In order to secure a lasting adhesion, the substrate should be clean, dry, undamaged and free from any contamination.

Product Compatibility

Depending on the actual exposure of the coating system, various primers and topcoats can be used in combination with this product. Some examples are shown below. Please contact our Technical Team for specific system recommendations.

Previous coat: Epoxy, zinc epoxy, epoxy mastic, polyurethane
Subsequent coat: Polyurethane

Low Flame Spread in accordance with EU Directive for Marine Equipment. Approved in accordance with parts 5 and 2 of Annex 1 of IMO 2010 FTP Code, or Parts 5 and 2 of Annex 1 of IMO FTPC when in compliance with IMO 2010 FTP Code Ch. 8.
