PRODUCT DETAILS

Mapei Mapefloor CPU/COVE is a three-component polyurethane/cement-based mortar used to mould fillets to realize covings between walls and floors or other features in industrial floor coverings made using products from the Mapefloor CPU range.

Best Uses

Mapefloor CPU/COVE is characterised by its high strength and resistance to chemicals. It is used in combination with polyurethane/cement floor coating products from the Mapefloor CPU range. To make Mapefloor CPU/COVE non-absorbent and easy to clean, paint over the surface with Mapei Mapefloor CPU/TC.

Some application examples of this product in the Mapefloor CPU range include using Mapei Mapefloor CPU COVE before applying polyurethane / cement floor coating products from the Mapefloor CPU range:

  • To mould fillets to blend in walls and floors
  • To repair small holes
  • To mould fillets around plinths, run-off channels, drains, etc
  • To reconstruct edges, chipped joints, etc

COLOURS AVAILABLE
Mapefloor CPU/COVE is a neutral-grey colour and must be coloured directly on site prior to application with Mapecolor Paste, available in the standard colours available for the various products from the Mapecolor CPU range (red 855, beige RAL 1001, green 860, grey RAL 7030 and ochre yellow) and in 19 other standard RAL colours.

Application

Preparation of the substrate
Mapefloor CPU/COVE is used in combination with polyurethane/cement products from the Mapefloor CPU range to mould fillets to realize covings and details. The cementitious substrate of floors, walls and vertical surfaces in general must be in good condition, sound, must not be crumbling or dusty, must be clean and have no traces of grease, oil or any other material or substance that could impede adhesion of the product. Remove all loose or crumbling areas mechanically. Before applying Mapefloor CPU/COVE remove all traces of dust from the surface with a vacuum cleaner.

Preparation of the product
Pour component A into a large, clean container and, after mixing it, add component B and mix again with an electric mixer at low speed until it is completely blended. Then slowly add component C and Mapecolor Paste colouring agent (0.25 kg for every kit of Mapefloor CPU/COVE) and continue mixing until an even coloured mix is obtained. Apply the mix within the pot life indicated on the Product Data Sheet. Higher surrounding temperatures will reduce the pot life of the mix, while lower temperatures will increase its pot life.

Application of the product
Apply Mapefloor CPU/COVE while the Primer SN applied on the substrate is still wet. As an alternative, use a mixture of components A and B from Mapefloor CPU/COVE to prime the substrate. Apply the primer with a brush or roller then immediately apply Mapefloor CPU/COVE, pressing it and moulding it to shape with a suitable plastic or metal tool. When Mapefloor CPU/COVE has hardened, we recommend coating it with at least one coat of Mapefloor CPU/TC to seal the pores and make it easier to clean.
