Mapei was founded in 1937 in Milan. Mapei have rapidly grown to become a world leader in producing a wide range of building products for the construction industry ranging from resin floor coatings, screeds, grouts and sealants through to car park decking, wall renders and Masonry paints. Further piece of mind can be taken from the high level of technical support offered by the technical team at Promain in Hitchin as well as by the Mapei network of field sales that is backed up in the heart of London at Mapei’s sleak showroom located in the prestigious Domus London Design Centre in Clerkenwell Green. The Design Centre is the original award-winning showroom designed by the practice, which was opened in December 2012. Its ‘wow’ interior enables visitors to meet in a creative, social space and select products together, as well as gain technical assistance, all under one roof. Designers, architects engineers, contractors and building owners are able to make an appointment to meet the technical advisers to discuss their specific requirements as well as arranging site visits or CPD Presentations.

Recent joint Mapei and Domus projects include Equinox Gym and Siemens Crystal, historic projects including Cutty Sark, Heathrow Airport’s Terminal 5, Gatwick Airport, Wembley Stadium, The Hurlingham Club, the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, Wimbledon Tennis Centre Court’s Hospitality Area and the Winter Gardens Leisure Complex in Blackpool.
