Sports-Cote Playground Line Marking Paint is available in 5 colours, is a single pack water based paint designed for application to porous macadam tennis and netball courts or MUGA Courts, together with coated tennis and netball courts. Sports-Cote Sports-Line Acrylic is formulated using water based acrylic resin technology, which provides an environmentally safe coating with the necessary player/surface interaction characteristics to meet the current standards.

Best Uses

Playground Line Marking Paint is best used for line marking in playgrounds, sports courts, gymnasiums and other sporting areas where line marking is of high importance. Sports Cote Line traffic marking paint is highly durable and slip resistant, which meets with the requirements of SAPCA's Code of Practice for the painting of Porous Macadam Tennis and Netball Courts.

Application

New macadam must be allowed to oxidise before coating, and its surface should be grey and matt rather than black and glossy. The time it takes for oxidation to occur will vary depending on the nature of the surface and the climatic conditions. However, this will normally take between two and three weeks in the summer and may take up to three months in the winter. All loose grit and other debris must be removed by vacuuming, blowing or sweeping prior to the application of Sports Line Acrylic. Previously coated surfaces should be assessed for compatibility prior to application of Sports-Line Acrylic. In situations where Sports-Line Acrylic is used to line mark either Sports-Line Acrylic ensure that their second coats are touch dry before undertaking this.

Most light duty airless spray units are suitable for spraying Sports-Line Acrylic. Tip sizes will usually be in the 30-36 thou range. Sports-Line Acrylic can also be applied by brush or medium pile roller.

Surface and Environment

Playground Line Marking Paint has fast drying and low odour qualities meaning it can be used for indoor application but is more suitable to outdoor environments where tennis courts, netball courts and MUGA courts are located. Sports Cote Playground Line Marking Paint has high quality colour retention, meaning court line markings remain highly visible for the lifetime of the coating.
