Bollom Intulac Ultra Intumescent Basecoat
Bollom Intulac is a clear matt or satin varnish coating for interior wooden surfaces (excluding doors) offering Class 0 spread of Flame to BS476 Parts 6&7.
Best Uses
Bollom have developed a clear varnish paint coating offering Class O spread of Flame for interior timber surfaces. Fire retardant coatings are not designed to upgrade doors to fire doors, fire retardant coatings will provide Class O spread of flame but will NOT provide any minutes protection.
Bollom Intulac is a water based intumescent base coat that is used in conjunction with the Bollom Intulac Top Coat that in the event of fire expands to form a protective carbon char that protects the wood from burning. The system comprises of 2 coats of Bollom Intulac water based intumescent base coat and one coat of either Bollom Intulac matt or satin topcoat.
A 5 Litre tin of Intulac Ultra Intumescent Base Coat will cover, with 2 coats a total of 12.5m2 to provide Class O Spread of Flame.
Application
Reduction of ignitability of soft and hard wood and other wood derivatives, i.e. plywood, chipboard, fibre insulation board, hard board, also on veneering ≥ 12 mm thickness. Insulates against heat, checks fire, prevents propagation of fire and diminishes flue-gas density and flue-gas temperature. For interior use only. Not suitable for surfaces exposed to mechanical stress.
Please be aware that you MUST apply both the Intulac basecoat and the Intulac solvent based top coat in either matt or satin finish to form the complete high performance system.
The Bollom Intulac Ultra range of fire retardant coatings has been formulated for use by professional painter and decorators. All the Bollom Intulac Ultra range of products are easy to apply and have been fire tested to BS 476 Parts 6&7.

How do I obtain a Fire Certification
You will need to provide the proof of purchase, the batch numbers of the products used along with the site details and contact our Technical Department on 01462 421 333 with all this information and Promain will send you the relevant Certificate of Supply within 5-7 working days.
