Product Description

Centrecoat Epoxy Damp Proof Basement Primer is a solvent free epoxy primer which inhibits water vapour transmission and isolates moisture, allowing floor coverings to be laid earlier.

Best Uses

Centrecoat Epoxy Damp Proof Basement Primer is best used as a basecoat to seal concrete floors from damp. It is ideal for use in areas such as basements and garages, which are often prone to damp. Please note that Centrecoat Epoxy Damp Proof Basement Primer is not a topcoat. It is intended for use as a primer only and should therefore be covered with an appropriate top coat once dry.

Application

The recommended method of application is either brush, squeegee or solvent resistant roller. Water based rollers are not suitable for use with this product.

When applying to New Concrete Floors:
The concrete must be at least 4 weeks old before coating the substrate or have moisture less than 5%. Ensure that the surface is thoroughly cleaned prior to application. Remove any laitance by blasting, degreasing or by acid etching.

When applying to Existing Concrete Floors:
Prior to application ensure the surface is clean of all dirt, oil, grease or other surface contaminants by enclosed shot blasting, scarification or mechanical grinding.

As this is a two component set, you will need to add the smaller tin (component B) which is the curing agent, to the larger tin (component A) which is the epoxy resin. These then need to be thoroughly mixed for a minimum of 3 minutes.

Important: Please refer to the data sheet for full instructions before you begin, or contact our Technical Team for advice if you are unsure or have never previously used a two component system.
