Product Description

Centrecoat QD Gloss Spray Finish, is an easy to use, quick drying, high gloss finishing coat, which is resistant to mild chemicals and has superior scratch resistance. The quick drying formula means minimum downtime and therefore a quick return to service.

Best Uses

Centrecoat QD Gloss Spray Finish is ideal for overcoating primed steel substrates. It has a good all round durable finish which is resistant to mild chemicals, and good exterior durability and film hardness. Some typical areas of use include:

  • Industrial Equipment
  • Industrial Plant
  • General Machinery
  • Tools and Implements

Application

The recommended application method is by Airless Spray, Air Assisted Airless Spray (9 thou tip), or conventional spray. Due to the quick drying nature of the product, application by brush or roller has limited capabilities and is therefore not recommended.

Ensure the area is fully prepped and all surfaces to be painted are clean, dry and free from all contamination. Mix thoroughly before use and always apply to a small test area to ensure there are no adverse reactions with the existing coating before painting can be carried out.

Primed steel substrates
Always refer to the Technical Data Sheet for the primer that is being overcoated. As a general rule, allow sufficient time for the primer to become handle dry. Once the primer to be coated is clean, dry and free from all contamination, lightly flat to give a smooth surface with an adequate key before application of the coating. If recently applied primers or undercoats are denibbed or flatted, an extended period of drying should be allowed for the surface to recover. Failure to follow this instruction could result in surface defects such as crazing, lifting, extended drying times or loss of gloss in the finish coat.

Existing paintwork
Once the surfaces to be coated are clean, dry and free from all contamination, remove all loose flaking paintwork back to a firm edge then lightly flat to give a smooth surface with an adequate key.
