Centrecoat QD Zinc Phosphate Primer can be re-coated with most types of finish. Centrecoat QD Zinc Phosphate Primer's pigmentation offers good resistance to salt spray, humidity etc.
Apply using airless spray, air assisted airless spray (15-17 thou tip), conventional spray (with thinning). Small areas however, may be brushed.
Shot blasting is the recommended method of substrate preparation. Painting should be carried out within four hours. If oxidisation has occurred before priming, the surface should be re-blasted. The resultant surface to be painted should be clean, dry and free from contamination, lamination and dust. If blasting in not possible, clean and degrease the metal substrate. Rust, burrs and oily residues should be removed completely. Sharp edges at welded seams should be ground down. Weld splatter, dust, scale etc., should be removed. The resultant surface should be clean, dry and free from lamination and dust.
Centrecoat QD Zinc Phosphate Primer can be overcoated with most xylene-based topcoats any time after through dry. However, due to its chemical nature, white spirit-based topcoats should not be applied directly onto this primer.
