Centrecoat QD Zinc Phosphate Primer can be re-coated with most types of finish. Centrecoat QD Zinc Phosphate Primer's pigmentation offers good resistance to salt spray, humidity etc.
Apply using airless spray, air assisted airless spray (15-17 thou tip), conventional spray (with thinning). Small areas however may be brushed.
Shot blasting is the recommended method of substrate preparation. Painting should be carried out within four hours. If oxidisation has occurred before priming the surface should be re-blasted. The resultant surface to be painted should be clean, dry and free from contamination, lamination and dust. If blasting in not possible, clean and degrease the metal substrate. Rust, burrs and oily residues should be removed completely. Sharp edges at welded seams should be ground down. Weld splatter, dust, scale etc., should be removed. The resultant surface should be clean, dry and free from lamination and dust.
Centrecoat QD Zinc Phosphate Primer can be overcoated with most xylene-based topcoats any time after through dry. However, due to its chemical nature, white spirit-based topcoats should not be applied directly onto this primer.

The manufacturers data sheets are available for download from this website. It is your responsibility to read and understand all aspects of the data sheets before you place an order and prior to application. Please pay special attention to the preparation, mixing and application temperatures of the product, cleaning of substrate and environmental factors such as temperature, rain etc. Quoted coverage rates are based on the manufacturers theoretical rates and may vary depending upon substrates absorption, texture and application. We always recommend a test is carried out to ensure suitability.
Customer further agrees that Promain have no liability for any errors or omissions contained within the Product Data Sheets and are not liable for failure due to misapplication or inadequate substrate cleaning and preparation. For more information please refer to our Terms & Conditions.
