Bollom Intumescent Paint For Steel

The Bollom Brosteel and Flameguard range of intumescent paint products are ideal for small to medium projects where fire protection of steel is required for up to 60 minutes. Bollom offer fire certification for the Bollom Brosteel and Flameguard intumescent paints with proof of purchase supplied by Promain. Intumescent coating systems for steel girders and columns are primarily for use by experienced professional users.

Promain’s technical team offer the best advice and guidance if you are an individual or a new contractor. This will ensure you are able to comply with the building regulation requirements. It is recommended you take advice from building control before the application of intumescent paint to structural steels. There are however exceptions, but generally one coat of Bollom Brosteel will provide 30 mins passive fire protection, and a second coat can provide 60 minutes passive fire protection on most types of structural steel columns and beams. We can offer Bollom Flameguard Ultra in gloss, eggshell or mat in a wide range of colours as intumescent paint is only available in white. We can provide a colour matching service for Flameguard in all finishes to match your chosen decorating scheme.

Intumescent paint is also formulated to expand when a given temperature is achieved so the application of a protective coat such as Flameguard is necessary.
