PRODUCT DETAILS
Hempel Marine Varnish 02220 is a clear, quick drying, urethane alkyd varnish for use on interior and exterior wood above the waterline.
Best Uses
Marine Varnish 02220 can be used on either new wood or previously varnished wood. It is suitable for both interior and exterior use above the waterline.
Application
Always ensure the surface is clean and dry prior to application. The moisture content of the wood must be below 16%. Stir the product well, before use.
For New Builds:
- New or uncoated wood: Saturate with a suitable wood preservative (except teak and vacuum impregnated wood).
- Sand the surface and remove any dust between coats for a smooth finish.
For Maintenance and Repair:
- Varnished wood: Wash the surface with a solution of one part ammonia in six parts of fresh water.
- Remove any detergent residues and any other contaminants prior to painting.
- Remove all dust, loose materials and any other contamination.
Please Note: Ammonia water may discolour oak, mahogany and teak.
