LRS FastCoat MS 2 Part Primer is suitable for use on roofs within the LRS FastCoat roof system. Suitable for use on non-ferrous metal, ferrous metal, GRP, single-ply roofs, glass and plastic substrates.
Ensure the substrate is free from grease, natural growth, loose / friable material, dirt and dust. The cleaning of the surface is critical to the successful bond of the membrane to the current roof structure. We recommend using a minimum 2000psi power washer to ensure a sufficient clean.
The surface must be dry before and during application. Cracks and gaps within the existing substrate should be filled using LRS PU Mastic. Any blisters within the substrate normally indicates moisture under the surface and should be investigated. All mechanical damage should be made good where necessary.
Once the existing substrate is clean, dry and fully prepared, apply the LRS MS 2-Part Primer at a coverage rate of 0.2kg per m² using a short piled roller. This will typically dry between 3 - 4 hours depending on weather conditions. The LRS MS 2 Part Primer can be over coated when it is dry to the touch.
Metal – Ferrous and Non-Ferrous
The existing substrate should be clean, dry and free from dust dirt and loose material. 3000psi power washer is recommended to clean the metal substrate. The substrate should be fully prepared before the application of the MS 2-Part Primer.
Glass Reinforced Polyester (GRP)
The existing substrate should be clean and dry before application. Any cracks or splits in the GRP should be repaired or filled where necessary. Recommended the GRP is keyed up using 80 grit sandpaper or similar.
Single-Ply
LRS MS 2-Part Primer is suitable to be applied over PVC type single-ply. LRS 799 Wash N Prep can be used to remove stubborn stains. The single-ply should be cleaned using a 2000psi power washer or something similar. Ensure the single-ply is suitable to be over coated before applying the MS 2-Part Primer.
Glass
The glass should be clean and dry before application. Recommended the glass is keyed up using a piece of 80 grit sandpaper or similar.
Plastic
The plastic should be clean, dry and prepared before application. Recommended the plastic is keyed up using a piece of 80 grit sandpaper or similar.
