LRS Karnak Elasto-Kote Base and Topcoat
LRS Karnak Elasto-Kote is a highly elastic, thermoplastic rubber based, single component exterior waterproofing coating.
Best Uses
LRS Karnak Elasto-Kote is intended for use on metal roofs, spray polyurethane foam roofs, EPDM, TPO, and most PVC roof membranes. This professional waterproof coating for roofs is also ideal over previously coated surfaces as well as for waterproofing concrete, concrete block, brick, cinder block and wood.
Not suitable for application over asphalt type surfaces. PVC and TPO roofs should be at least 4 years old before coating.
Application
All roof surfaces to be coated should be clean and free of dirt, dust flaking and pitting rust, grease, oil, and loose paint. New masonry surfaces should be allowed to cure 30 days before application of coating. EPDM roof surfaces should be cleaned with a suitable degreaser. Patch and repair all seams, flashings with LRS Karna-Flex and LRS Resat-Mat or LRS 550 Patch-N-Go or appropriate sealants and caulking materials. Karnak Elasto-Kote Base and Topcoat may be applied by brush, roller or spray equipment.
Apply Karnak Elasto-Kote Base at the rate of 0.6ltr per m². Allow base to dry 24 hours before applying Elasto-Kote Top coat at the rate of 0.6ltr per m². Coverage rate will vary due to texture and porosity of the surface. Film thickness should be approximately 0.6mm dry. Karnak Elasto-Kote Top coat will take approximately 24 hours to cure. EPDM roofs should first be coated with Base coat at the rate of 0.2ltrs per m² followed by two coats of Elasto-Kote Top coat at 0.5ltrs per m² per coat.
