Application
Preparation of the substrate
Old floors in ceramic, porcelain, klinker, etc. must be well bonded to the substrate and must be completely free of any substances which could affect adhesion, such as grease, oil, wax, paint, etc.
The grouts between the tiles must be sound and in good condition. If they are partially damaged or loose, remove the grout and fill the grouts in the floor with a suitable product from the MAPEI range before applying Purtop Easy T. Apply Purtop Easy T Primer by going over the entire surface with a clean rag dipped in the primer.
Preparation of the product
Purtop Easy T is a one-component, ready-to-use product but it is recommended to mix it before use to make sure it is perfectly blended.
Application of the product
When Purtop Easy T Primer is dry, apply Purtop Easy T. The temperature of the substrate must be at least 3°C above dew-point and the level of residual moisture must be no higher than 4%. Apply at least two even coats of Purtop Easy T with a roller or trowel to form a total thickness of around 1 mm. Purtop Easy T may also be applied by airless spray but must be diluted with 5% of Mapei Thinner PU.
Purtop Easy T has a smooth finish. To obtain a finish with a non-slip effect, apply two coats of Purtop Easy T and leave them to dry. Then, when the second coat is dry, lightly broadcast the surface with Mapei Quartz 0.25 and apply a thin coat of Purtop Easy T with a roller, making sure to criss-cross the roller strokes so that the quartz sand is distributed evenly.
