Product Description

Owatrol Oil for Rusted Surfaces has a penetrating rust inhibitor that stops rust from building up and protects the base metal from the potential of further rusting.

Owatrol Oil for Rusted Surfaces is a versatile, highly penetrating air drying oil (metal primer) that can be used alone or added to paint. Used alone it provides a tough, flexible finish, driving out excess moisture and air; displacing it from rusted metal, so stopping rust. Filling dry porous wood to stop paint peeling. Added to any oil or alkyd based coatings and it will give increased wet edge time, improved flow ability, greater adhesion and unlike damaging thinners, will maintain the inherent quality of the paint without affecting its appearance or drying times.

Best Uses

Owatrol Oil for Rusted Surfaces has a penetrating rust inhibitor that stops rust from building up and protects the base metal from the potential of further rusting. It works by penetrating right down to the sound metal and drives out moisture and air before stabilising. Owatrol Oil for Rusted Surfaces removes oil, stops it from coming back all the while maintaining the natural appearance of the surface, primarily metal.

Owatrol Oil is also suitable for use with solvent based paints to give a smoother finish. Contact our technical team for more info.

Application

Owatrol Oil for Rusted Surfaces can be applied using brush, roller or airless spray, and works well with HVLP sprayers and garden/pump sprayers too. After 12 hours Owatrol Oil for Rusted Surfaces will be touch dry and ready for a recoating after 24-48 hours. Owatrol Oil for Rusted Surfaces offers heat resistance of up to 175°C making it an ideal product to be used in construction or workshop environments where heat build up can often occur. Owatrol Oil is available in 500ml, 1 litre, 5 litres and 20 litres for larger rust removal jobs.

Surface and Environment

Owatrol Oil for Rusted Surfaces offers adhesion enhancement and can be used as an ideal foundation for primers or finishing coats. Owatrol Oil for Rusted Surfaces has excellent viscosity meaning it can be applied and used in all kinds of different weather conditions, including, wind, rain and hot conditions. Owatrol Oil for Rusted Surfaces is designed primarily for use on metal surfaces that are prone to rust build up and work excellently towards protecting the metal parts.
