Rustoleum Furniture Paint has been developed to offer an easy to apply paint to give furniture a shabby chic aesthetic. This French look is produced by a giving the finish a distressed effect to the paint. The method is often know as liming.
Rustoleum Chalky Finish Furniture Paint provides a classic smooth flat matt finish in a range of attractive popular stock colours. This Chalky Finish Furniture Paint is ideal for applying to a range of surfaces such as metal, plastic, stone, brick, plaster as well as old and new timber. A primer may be required for certain surfaces.
A technique that has been adopted by many furniture painters is the application of two different Chalky Finish Furniture Paint colours and when dry lightly sanding or even scouring the top layer of paint to expose the colour below offering a very attractive look breathing new life into old tired furniture.
Create a distressed look by applying two coats in contrasting colours. After drying, sand or scour the surface. Protect the finish with either Rust-Oleum Furniture Finishing Wax or Rust-Oleum Furniture Lacquer.
Stir thoroughly prior to use. The product may be applied by brush or roller. If applying by brush, apply evenly following the grain of the wood. If rollering, use a short nap mohair roller.
