Rust-Oleum Surfa-Etch 108 Acid Etching Solution
Rustoleum-Mathys Surfa-Etch 108 Etching Solution helps to provide good adhesion properties to smooth, dense power floated floors as well as galvanised steel and aluminium.
Rustoleum-Mathys Surfa-Etch 108 Etching Solution is an acid-based formula designed for preparing power float floors and assures good adhesion to smooth dense surfaces. Rustoleum-Mathys Etching Solution 108 is available in 5 litre containers.
Best Uses
Rustoleum-Mathys Surfa-Etch 108 Etching Solution works well to neutralise alkaline contaminations, in light to heavy industrial exposures with power floated floors and is part of our extensive Rust-Oleum Cleaning and Degreasing range.
- Improves the adhesion of coating systems
- Neutralises alkaline salts
- Ideal to remove ´white rust´ from metal
- No objectionable odour or fumes
- Non-flammable
Application
To ensure homogeneity shake well before use. Scrape or sweep away grease, oil, dirt and all other surface contaminations as much as possible. Degrease by means of alkaline cleaning, high pressure (steam) cleaning or, for small patches, by volatile solvent cleaning. Apply Surfa-Etch 108 Etching Solution liberally and scrub it into the surface. Allow to stand for 10 - 15 minutes, depending on temperature, and clean thoroughly by flushing with plenty of fresh water. Do not allow the Surfa-Etch 108 Etching Solution to dry before rinsing!
Concrete and masonry may need a second treatment. After cleaning, remove any remaining water and allow to dry completely, as moisture left on the surface or entrapped into pores may cause failure of the coating system. Large surface areas or poor drying conditions may require longer drying times before a coating system can be applied.
